25.08.2008 - 27.09.2008
Selection of photography prints and short movies exhibited all through colette three levels. "These pictures are a sum of a lifelong love of nature documentaries, National Geographic and my later work with fashion photography. Birds have a sartorial quality which in a sense is a pure form of fashion." First show at colette new version re-opening same date and first Sølve Sundsbø solo show in Paris.

Heliumcowboy 5 years

12.07.2008 - 15.08.2008
After almost 50 exhibitions, the heliumcowboy artspace celebrates its 5th anniversary this summer. We want to commemorate this accordingly – with a huge group exhibition featuring almost 30 regional and international artists that we have worked with closely in the past, and who all belong to the heliumcowboy family. This anniversary exhibition gives us the opportunity to present the work of our artists and the gallery to a large audience. In order to achieve this, the location needs to be up to the task. Consequently, the temporary space we will move into for the duration of the show is as unconventional as our gallery: the former Broadway movie teatre, close to the central train station (Bieberhaus).

Freedom and the lust to experiment will be the guiding idea of the anniversary show. The aim is to create a common world that is mesmerizing, inventive and inspirational at the same time, and to enrich Hamburg’s exhibition-culture in order to offer something innovative to the art-enthused visitor. Not only requires this venture a large degree of visionary power, courage, passion and no fear of hard work, but also a great deal of megalomania. Here, at the Ranch of the heliumcowboy’s, we possess enough of all that.

Featuring: 56k, Akane Kimbara, Alex Diamond, Alexej Mirnij, Antonio Santin, Blami, Boris Hoppek, Casey McKee, Christophe Lambert, Jim Avignon, Jon Burgerman, Kingdrips, Karen Koltermann, Ki Yoon Ko, Lena Schmidt, Luiza Mogosanu, Lui Roq, Mike Swaney, moki, Stephen Smith/Neasden Control Centre, Nina Braun, Pandarosa, Patrick Farzar, Rinzen, Thomas Markus Schumann, Victor Castillo, Rai Escale, 4000.

Eltono Bermellón

08.07.2008 - 08.08.2008
To expose street art in a gallery is always delicate, outside its normal surroundings the work usually loses its sense. In order to solve this problem, Eltono always tries to create a relation between the street and the gallery. For the exhibition "Bermellón", the artist presents/displays collages of wood found in the streets of Barcelona which will use as the support to paint his "invertidos" inspired by art originally made in the streets. The "invertidos" paintings are inverted interpretations of original works that are in the public space, thus, the artist, works with the emptiness makes the reference to the original ones, without reproducing or falsifying them and simultaneously questioning the limits of outdoor and indoor exhibitions.

Sesper Formol

01.07.2008 - 02.08.2008
Garage Fuzz, Most, of street art, toyart, children, etc.. Finally, Alexandre Cruz is a maniac. It is difficult to say what is the specialty of this inhabitant of megalopolis Sao Paulo, as it does 300 things at once and he constantly strives to peak in all of them. It is contradictory, but true. Making an effort to make it brief, we can say that the subject is a full time musician, composer, visual artist, graphic designer, entrepreneur and father. That if we look at the life of Alexander today, as in the past he has made tons of other notable things, which are for the future archeologists to discover.

Catarina Lira Pereira Lese Code

27.06.2008 - 26.07.2008
As an artist, Catarina Lira Pereira explores cartoon images, and then renovates them. With lines and patterns, she covers up the image thus imbuing the remainder with a certain degree of inconsequence. Inspired by each image that she encounters, Lira Pereira proceeds to invade and occupy it as if she were claiming her own space within it. During this process, she gives preference and prominence to the aspects that she wants to integrate into the final revelation of her perspective. The interaction of memory and oblivion in her paintings give shape to a game of revelation and concealment in which a monochromatic field veils a battalion of colors or vice versa. Every element of her works takes part in this interaction. In Lira Pereira's oeuvre, everything is relative because everything is conditioned, contradicted, accentuated and supported.

Read some of the inmediate media reactions:

"Congratulations to Rojo Magazine for their amazing new TV station. Full of really interesting creative video work, this site really spans a wide range of artistic video and motion graphics work. This should prove to be a great source of inspiration for years to come. Expecting a real hit and miss experience, I started watching it to produce a little list of pieces that got me going. I quickly abandoned this to simply recommend the whole lot and just implore that you spend a few minutes or a few hours looking at this site..." www.creativevideomovingimage.com UK

"Just launched today by Barcelona-based art publisher and artist management group Rojo, their new online TV channel Rojo TV is an artsy alternative to the others. Unlike the streaming QOOB TV, which features short movies but done more by filmmakers and designers than fine artists, Rojo TV focuses only on creative video works from artist-filmmakers..." www.coolhunting.com USA

"The folks at Barcelona’s artist and designer consortium, ROJO, have been on our radar for quite some time now. Their wonderful design books, coupled with a multitude of other artistic endeavors, have more or less become staples of our design diet. Luckily for us we’re still hungry for more, because as our preferred purveyors of Spanish design perfection, they’ve got even more goodies for us to eat up. This time the group behind ROJO Magazine is going beyond print and product collaborations by expanding into the world of video art. Their new site, ROJO TV Online focuses on bringing art fans the best video talent around, completely ad free..." www.joshspear.com USA

"The folks over at Barcelona-based ROJO recently let us in on the news of their latest project: ROJO®tv online. ROJO, an independent organization dedicated to the promotion and support of arts, has spaces all over the globe: Brazil, Spain, and Italy, so with their new ROJO®tv, they’ve gotten one step closer towards world domination! ..." www.juxtapoz.com USA
